Sound-Meditation
Sound meditation is an experience, either in a group or one-on-one, that utilizes sound to induce a meditative state.
Guided sound meditation is one of the oldest forms of therapy for relaxation, inner peace, contentment, and serenity. Sound meditation is an experience in a group or individual setting that uses sound to create a meditative state. It is a quick and effortless way to achieve deeper meditation as the sounds help alter our brainwaves. By using rhythm and frequencies, we can manipulate our brainwaves to shift normal consciousness into a meditative state. Scientific studies show that certain frequency changes can have an effect on the vegetative and endocrine systems. Every atom, molecule, cell, gland, and organ in the human body absorbs and emits sound.
Precautions
For most people, sound meditation is a safe form of relaxation. However, there are certain individuals who should avoid participating in sound meditation due to specific medical conditions. Above all, people who are suffering from mental disorders should always consult their psychiatrist or family doctor before engaging in sound meditation.
